The Chitimacha Tribal Police Department is a Community Oriented Department providing Law Enforcement services 24/7 with 13 full time POST Certified Officers. The Department also has a Dispatch Center that is staffed 24/7. All Tribal Police Officers are commissioned through the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department and the St Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. The full time Tribal Police Officers also hold Special Law Enforcement Commissions issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
